Research Projects

  1. Development of mathematical models and non-linear control strategies for ultra-thin cold rolling mills and temper rolling mills, with particular emphasis on the modelling of the non-circular arc roll gap. (Stefan Fuchshumer)
  2. Energy based nonlinear description and control of hydraulically actuated mechanical systems in rolling mill plants. (Gernot Grabmair)
  3. Analysis and active rejection of chatter-vibrations in multi-stand rolling mills. (Johann Holl)
  4. Development of a Nonlinear Hydraulic Gap Controller for the positioning system of a rolling mill. The nonlinear controller was implemented some month ago and works well with increased performance (Rainer Novak)
  5. Development of MIMO control-strategies for a 5 stand tandem mill (Gernot Grabmair, Rainer Novak)
